Badminton Players Who Came From Tennis Should Know They Are Not Weak—It Is Just Another Sport To Enjoy
Shifting From tennis to badminton is not weakness; it is trying out a new sport to enjoy.
Here are some of the few things that you should know before jumping into conclusion:
In badminton, the shuttlecock does not have to reach the floor. It ends the rally once it happens. While in tennis, a player may be given one bounce for the ball.
In badminton, the serving side and receiving side have almost equal opprotunity to win the rally. While in tennis, the serve is one key element for making a quick point—getting an ace.
In Badminton, one wrong serve ends your chance to serve. In tennis, you get one more chance after the first attempt.
In Badminton, the fastest recorded stroke was Fu Haifeng’s 206 mph smash. While in tennis, the fastest recorded tennis stroke is Andy Roddick’s 153 mph serve.
Now, who is weak?
Well, these are facts; but they don’t mean that badminton players are stronger too. These are just for the so-called friends who would forced their way to insist that “Tennis is the game.” Tennis fanatics perhaps.
Let me tell you about some of my naughty experiences when inviting friends from our tennis group to play badminton. Some of these so-called friends would immediately compare the game with tennis. As if, it is just an extension of the game. A sport that wings out of tennis for the not so competitive tennis players. Those, who have been playing tennis yet dared to try out the other sport (badminton) would often be accused of weakness. Perhaps the weakness of not being loyal with tennis, as a sport. But it doesn’t matter.
So if you had your own naughty experience too; you may as wel tell them these.
