Defending Champion, Lee Chong Wei, Opting To Withdraw From The Asian Badminton Championship
Lee Chong Wei loses his confidence and has been thinking of withdrawing from the Asian Badminton Championships (ABC) in Johor Baru on April 10-15. Chong Wei is the defending singles champion. But I just don’t know how he could defend his title if he couldn’t defend himself from his staggering self-confidence.
A year ago, national shuttler Lee Chong Wei was the best of his game. He was even at the top of his career. He is eyed as a potential medalist in the 2008 Beijing Olympics. Now, he has to fight his greatest opponent—himself.
Fortunately, the national singles coach, Wong Tat Meng, is quite optismistic. He was saying that what it takes for chong Wei is just to gain back his level of confidence; and he can only do that if he competes during the Asian Badminton Championships. How lucky for Wong Lei to have a coach such as Tat Meng.
